The reason that the USPS is not showing your documents delivered could be many. One of the biggest reasons that I have experienced is "unable to scan the bar code". This is more probable if you had printed the mailing label and affixed it on the envelope with a tape. Sometimes the tape can overlap the bar code making the bar code difficult to be scanned. I frequently use USPS priority mail and in about 10% of the cases this happens. But I never had a lost priority mail piece.
Additionally the fact that you had a soft LUD on 9/28, I would think that LUD was for the reason that USCIS received the documents. I had applied AP online on the same date as you did, sent docs via priority mail the next day. USPS showed that the documents delivered on 9/25 and had soft LUDs on 9/25 and 9/28.

To my knowledge, bench non-pay violates H1B rules. If you are on H1B you are required to draw a salary every month.
I do not know if bench non-pay violates AOS pending status.

I am worried that my new offer letter with Java skills mentioned would create a problem for me.

Being a big company they may have their own IT dept. If we can find out if they either outsource their IT dept or hire H1-bs than he may not have much to argue..my 2cents.

When I joined this forum it was to look advice on my case and to offer help when I could. No one has ever taken the time to explain what the objectives of the Core are. What I see alot of are #1 asking people to contribute and #2 members complaining about people asking their questions in the wrong area or opening too many threads. Someone needs to explain fully what Core is doing and list ways for the members to help. I would love to help if I can. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to offer financially being that my husband and I are living off one income. I wish I could go to the rally but I cant afford to do that either. There must be some way that I can help- stuffing envelopes or something- anything. But what I would love to see is an explanation of what it is the Core is trying to accomplish and a set of guidelines for posting if possible because I am so sick and tired of seeing "please close this thread"

I'm making fun of the situation, but when all is said and done I am so frustrated with this whole thing. Sometimes I wonder if I would have done better somewhere else although, except for this whole GC deal, I do like where I am. I just wonder if my life would have been better in a different way though. After reading all this, my story is even funnirer. I went to India to get engaged (arranged) when the dates became current...and not they rolled back to 1000BC.... Now I am engaged, and hearing all these wife stores feel quite screwed...lol..

There are so many things not required by law but you have to do which if you did not do is fraud or lie by ommision. Any material change to your case which could affect the decision of USCIS in awarding you with GC should be reported and USCIS "expects" us to do that.
I am telling all of you, there is a similar case on going right now. A couple apply for citizenship and got denied because of the discovery of fraud on their GC process. They are now in "removal proceedings".
If it's not required by law, no court will find you guilty. I am sure the case you are talking about is not employment-based portability case.

Because, till 2005 there were extra 100,000 (total 242,000 were issued) recapturd numbers available. Therefore, no one cared (DOS/USCIS) about AC21 law that removes country quota. EB2 were curren for all then.

I was thinking how to get a high tec job with Z visa. Because you might need to tell the employer that you are on Z visa. Tech employer might be hesitent to give us job on Z visa.
But you can start a new company and do consulting. You do not need to tell them what status you are in. All they need to know is you are a employee XYZ company.
